Shankar canning introduction scenes of Nanban

The shoot of Shankar directed Nanban is currently progressing at a private apartment in Chennai. Director Shankar is canning the opening sequence with the lead stars Jeeva and Srikanth. Vijay one of the lead star has wrapped up his introduction part well before and Jeeva has wrapped up his part yesterday.

Director Shankar has added few more scenes to the Tamil version to match the taste of Kollywood audiences. The film has 109 scenes in total after including the new scenes.

As the shoot and the rest of the works are going in a jet speed Nanban is expected for a Diwali release. The audio rendered by Harris Jayraj is going to be launched soon.

Recently Shankar has roped in Andrea Jeremiah to dub her melodious voice for Ileana, the female lead of the film.

Nanban is produced under the banner of Gemini Film Circuit by Raju Easwaran and T. Muthuraj.

So, this Diwali is going to be Festival of films rather than Festival of Lights.

Vijay and Ileana off to Netherlands for Nanban movie

Ilayathalapathy Vijay and Ileana are flying to Amsterdam in Netherlands, for Shankar's Nanban song picturisation. Nanban is a remake of Aamir Khan's Raju Hirani directed classic 3 Idiots.

Amsterdam is one of Shankar's favourite locations, especially the Tulip Gardens, 'discovered' first by Yash Chopra, in the famous Silsila song.

Shankar has done even better during the 'Flower Festival of the Keukenhof Gardens' in full bloom with tulips and other flowers making it a riot of colour on screen for the Kumari, Kumari song in Anniyan. The song featured Vikram and Sada, with Vivek in the background.

Now Shankar and Harris Jayaraj the Anniyan composer have come out with a peppy melody which will be picturised on Vijay and Ileana in Amsterdam and partly in Zurich in Switzerland.

Shankar and his team will be leaving for Amsterdam today (May 4) and will be back by May 10 or 11.

3 Idiots Tamil Remake Titled as Nanban

It's official at last. The Tamil remake of 3 idiots is to be called Nanban.

The film is being directed by Shankar and stars Vijay, Jeeva and Srikanth in the lead roles. The mega venture will also feature popular actress Illeana, who will be seen in Tamil afterKedi. Sathyaraj and Sathyan too play pivotal roles.

Apart from these stars, director S. J. Surya, actress Anuya and Ajay Rathinam are set to make a special appearance.

Sources close to the film's unit say that scenes involving Jiiva, Srikanth, Sathyaraj, Sathyan and S J Suryah are being shot in Ooty now. Vijay's portions are to be canned from February 25. While the camera will be handled by Manoj Paramahamsa, Harris Jayaraj will score the music.
