Vijay set to start Pagalavan

Vijay set to start Pagalavan

After going through a lean path in 2009-10, Vijay became very selective while approving his projects. He signed a few films of which Kaavalan was released earlier this year and did decent business at the box-office. His other projects Velayudham has almost completed the shooting and Nanban is in the third schedule of its filming. In the meantime, he has decided to start his long-pending movie Pagalavan.

Vijay signed Pagalavan a year ago but the project did not take-off on time, as director Seeman was detained for his anti Sri Lankan statement. The movie was put on hold after the actor started his other approved films. Now that the Sivakasi star has finished the shooting of Velayudham, he has given the green signal for the filmmaker to go ahead with the project.

Meanwhile, Seeman has roped in Hansika Motwani, who has paired up Vijay in Velayudham and Bhavana to play the female lead roles in Pagalavan. The movie will hit the floors soon.

Superstar Rajinikanth, who has been in and out of hospital over the last three weeks, is recovering well at a Singapore facility and will be back in Chennai soon, said his son-in-law and actor Dhanush on Tuesday.

"He is responding well to treatment at the Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre. He should be back in Chennai in a week or 10 days," said Dhanush after announcing the nominees for the 58th Idea Filmfare Awards 2010 (south).

"Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre gave him fantastic treatment. They made him fit to travel so he could get better treatment," said Dhanush, explaining the reason for moving Rajinikanth to Singapore. "The doctors have identified the root cause and it is not an irreversible condition. The superstar is eating well, watching a lot of movies and in a great mood to shop. If he doesn't return after 10 days that will be because we would be on a family vacation," said the actor, adding that Rajini will surely complete 'Raana'.
