'Mankatha' with Record Openings than 'Enthiran'

'Mankatha' with Record Openings than 'Enthiran'

Venkat Prabhu directed the prestigious 50th film of Ultimate Star Ajit, with the title 'Mankatha'. There was a gossip that Nagarjuna was asked to play cameo in the film, but he could not adjust the dates due to his pre-occupation with other projects. Arjun replaced Nagarjuna in the role. Trisha paired up with the hero.

The Tamil version was produced by Dhayanidhi Azhagiri on the banner of Cloud Nine Movies. As Ajit is a known face in Telugu with films like 'Prema Lekha' and other such films, Multi- Dimension Films bought the dubbing rights of the prestigious film and started the dubbing and other post-production works in Telugu.

'Mankatha' with Record Openings than 'Enthiran'

Though earlier it was planned to release the film simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil, the Tamil version of the film had hit the screens on August 31.

Surprisingly, the film was proved a biggest hit and reportedly had the highest openings in Tamil which surpassed the records of Tamil Super Star Rajanikanth's 'Enthiran'.

Let us hope Ajit would repeat the same magic in Telugu, as dubbed films are ruling the roost in Telugu these days.

Rajinikanth's Rana temporarily Shelved

Rajinikanth's much-publicized movie Rana has temporarily been shelved, as the actor has to be in bed rest for at least six months. His family sources have said that they are more concerned about the actor's health and their first priority is the superstar's health.

Soundarya Rajinikanth, who is one of the producers of Rana, has told a leading tabloid that they are not thinking about the proposed project and it will be rescheduled once Rajinikanth is back to normal. Sources say that the actor will have to be in complete rest and obviously the movie has to be postponed.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth, who was admitted at the Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre last week for a recurrent respiratory infection and gastrointestinal problems, underwent a minor lung surgery yesterday. Hospital sources say that the actor is cheerful and his condition is stable. But they have advised him to take complete bed rest and also have restricted the visitors from meeting the actor.

Rajini was hospitalised on the muhurat day of Rana due to allergic bronchitis and viral fever and discharged on the same day. But he was admitted again at the same hospital after Rajinikanth complained of uneasiness in breathing.

However, KS Ravikumar has already shot a song on Deepika Padukone, when she was in Chennai. The director has been to Thailand and soon he will be going to London to plan the shooting schedules.
